A Slave to Two Masters
Computer programming is the art and science of doublespeak — you must write for humans and computers at the same time. Like if one French and one Spanish-speaking person each asked who I am, to say: "Jack" would answer both. But if I were to say: "My name is Jack," that could confuse them since the French-speaker would've needed: "Je m'appelle Jack" and the Spanish: "Mi nombre es Jack." But computers are unforgiving, so if you can't ride two horses at once, you shouldn't join the circus.
