Dumb Zealots Do More Harm Than Good

Yesterday evening, while on the prowl for more of what I (sort of) got the night before, I saw this 50-something, balding Asian guy parading through the crowd, holding a sign that read: Who is Jesus? On the back it said: He is Our Saviour. Obviously I ignored it – I had better things to do. But two minutes later, I was trying to catch up to him to ask a question.

Three minutes later, I was still trying to catch up to him. That was the first red flag. Is this going to be just another idiot? Some attention-starved, midlife-crisis poser looking to feel good about himself without actually doing much? He made that sign in ten minutes. My site took ten years. But still, it might be worthwhile, I hoped. Maybe I will learn something.

Nope. I finally caught up to him and politely said I’d like to ask him a question. He immediately tells me he can’t speak English well enough. Like that’s the problem. Then he goes on to say (in sufficient English) that he can’t answer questions, he doesn't know anything. Aha! Honesty! I knew it.

I let him run away. Back to his phony posturing, further degrading the already tarnished reputation of The Church for fun. Maybe not MY idea of fun, but it’s better than washing the dishes. Anyways I got what I needed: insight. Something to ponder. What is the deal with all these religious zealots? It’s not like I haven’t tried to understand them before. Was he some fool? Or am I?

Let’s break it down for the assholes assuming I don’t understand that God works in mysterious ways. Thanks for pointing that out. That would have been helpful 40,000 years ago when Klubby first saw a cactus get hit by lightning. But I know that. Everyone knows that. Maybe 10-Minute-Sign-Guy was parading around for a reason he didn’t need to understand because he already knows in his heart that good pussy just isn’t an option for him anymore. I get it. I feel for him. But I also kinda think that MAYBE the reason he can’t answer ANY questions about his core beliefs is cause he’s dumb. He didn’t do the research. He never got around to becoming capable of articulating clear reasons for his actions. And now he’s either a liar, ignorant and arrogant, or brainwashed by some tyrannical deity that turns people into mind-slaves. No good options.

Finally we get to the point: I AM NOT LIKE HIM. People think astrology is a religion, that us astrologers are just more delusional phonies. They’re right. Some are. There are idiots in every industry, every nook and cranny, in your workplace and in your family. But not here. This is a place of truth. Which anyone can see. But they might have to put in some work.
